I am the youngest son of Late Rev. Dr. Y. D. Tiwari, and am, at present, associated with Senate of Serampore College (University), (web-site: senateofseramporecollege.edu.in). I have been teaching since 1979 in theological colleges. Like my father, I am a student of Religions, and have been dealing, in teaching, with the studies of religious traditions, their philosophy, theology and practices. Unlike my father, who was a linguist, with specialization in Sanskrit, Hindi and Greek, my specialization is in Philosophy and Hindu Theology (Advaita). Inter-faith relations, dialogue, modern religious movements and interpretation of Christ in Indian Christian thinking have drawn much of my academic interest. I have taught at Serampore College, Serampore (1979-94). John Roberts Theological Seminary, Shillong in the eastern state of Meghalya (1994-97), and Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute, Chennai, Tamilnadu (1997-2004). I was also involved in academic administration as Rector-Vice-Principal, Principal and Deans in these colleges as well, which, perhaps, prompted the officers of the Senate of Serampore College and, Master and Council of Serampore College invite me to take up the responsibility of the Senate of the oldest, and the only theological University in India. I am with the Senate since 2004.
